sewn together by a thousand threads was the second EP i released as angel jelly. there were 2 singles- coffin and no one will want you. truthfully this one is a really hard listen for me. i don't necessarily think the songs are bad, but i was soooooo miserable while making it. now i look back and listen and it just feels so whiny to me even though there are things i really love about this project.
for one— i think the photoshoot/visual identity for this project was soooo defined. a lot of it is semi lost to time (since it was only really posted on twitter) but i made a lot of album teasers/promo that were honestly very high effort. this one has a piano medley i made containing the main melodic motif in each song that i never posted anywhere else.
i honestly feel like parts of stbatt are super unique— didn't mean is so structurally interesting, switching between the chorus dnb rhythms, the bossa-esque verse, and the drumstep heavier sections. coffin was the first song i put out that i played guitar on, and i think it's the only angel jelly song in 6/8. i also love the bass design in no one will want you— i remember posting a snippet of the drop to my private twitter and tracey replied like "how did u make this..." i respect her so much as a sound designer so i was gasssssed about it lol. i remember showing lando too deep for the first time while we were at oscar's. he was literally like "waitttt let me hit this" and i was like :D
idk. i really cared about this project when i was making it and it makes me sad that i find it really hard to listen to and talk about.
