sweetheart was the first EP i released as angel jelly. it was just three tracks, with butterfly knife as a single coming out first. it was also my first real attempt to make an EP with seamless transitions. "butterfly knife" was a song about being stalked that was lyrically really inspired by "watering" by big thief. self destruction was one of my attempts at a sample based instrumental- i actually got the idea to use the sample from "wish" by denzel curry which uses the same sample lol. maybe a little dishonorable but tbh i feel like the songs are super different. into the fire started with me playing around with the early shinju presets which rocco and lando put me on to. i was super happy to get margaux on a feature too, i think this verse from her is soooo unique and cool.

honestly i feel like this EP has aged better than a lot of things i've put out, i still really like all of these songs.
